About Us

Getting to know Every Second Care

Our ethos, our approach, and how we train and support our team to deliver complex care you can trust.

Our Ethos

Empowering independence, enriching lives

Every Second Care exists to support people through their life journey — from compassionate, attentive companionship through to the highest standard of person-centred, holistic care. We believe every person we support deserves to be seen as an individual first, with needs that never define who they are or what they can achieve.

We pride ourselves on enhancing quality of life and enabling the people we support to live as independently as possible, with round-the-clock care available in the comfort of their own home when it's needed. Support doesn't stop with the individual either — we stay close to families too, offering continuous reassurance and support every step of the way.

Behind that is a strong, experienced team of complex care professionals who share one drive: to improve lives and promote independence through consistent, trustworthy relationships. We understand that behaviour is often a form of communication, and we take the time to look beyond what we see to understand what someone may be trying to tell us.

We are proud to be registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission, the body responsible for overseeing home care provision across the UK — and we hold ourselves to that same standard in everything we do.

  • Empowering independence, enriching lives
  • Trauma informed, person-centred approach, around the clock when needed
  • Continuous support for the whole family, not just the individual
  • CQC registered and regulated

Person-Centred Approach

Support built around the individual, always

No two people are the same, and we don't believe their support should be either. Our approach begins with the individual. We work alongside the people we support, their families and the professionals involved in their care to understand their needs, preferences, routines, goals and what a good life looks like to them.

Support is planned around the individual and reviewed as their needs develop or change. Wherever possible, we encourage choice, independence and involvement in everyday decisions, balancing positive risk-taking with appropriate safeguards. Our goal is simple: to provide the right support, in the right way, for each individual.

  • Individually designed care plans, reviewed regularly
  • Close collaboration with families and professionals
  • Choice, dignity and independence at the centre of every decision
Training & Quality

A team trained to the highest standard

At Every Second Care, we believe great support starts with well-trained, confident people. Our complex care team completes a comprehensive induction and the Care Certificate, alongside mandatory training including safeguarding, medication management, trauma-informed care and moving & handling.

Our focus is always on prevention and understanding the person behind the need. [Placeholder: to be confirmed with Every Second Care, any specific accreditations, such as PBS, PMVA or Restraint Reduction Network membership, to reference here.]

Clinical & Specialist Training

Alongside our core training, we provide specialist learning shaped around the individual, which may include autism, learning disabilities, mental health, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and other specialist training.

Safeguarding

All staff are fully DBS-checked and trained in safeguarding for both young people and adults, with clear reporting pathways and regular refreshers.

Ongoing Quality

Training continues beyond induction through regular supervision, competency checks and ongoing development, helping us maintain safe, consistent and high-quality support.
